The Training challenge will run on a quarterly basis. This challenge will be open to all active FVRJ members.
The entry fee will be $10 per quarter.
Participants will get points for participating in any regularly scheduled weekday or weekend runs. A list of runs will be provided. (Bonus runs will not be included). Participants will need to RSVP to the runs using meetup. We recommend everyone who has a smartphone to download the meetup app.
Run leaders of the regularly scheduled runs will be responsible for marking attendance after a scheduled run is completed. This can be done online or on the app itself. (The competition committee will publish instructions on how to do this)
Participating in each training run will get you 5 points. Please note that there is no stipulation on how much or how long you run.
Volunteering at races will get you 10 points. You will need to inform the competition committee about the race you are volunteering for. Please include the name, date, location and race director of the race.
At the end of the quarter, if you collect 100 points your entry fee will be returned to you. If you don't collect 100 points, your entry fee is forfeit. The pool of funds from forfeited entries (if any) will be distributed as first/second/third prize for the top 3 point winners. Please note that there are no minimum point requirements for the first/second/third prizes.
The weeks for 2016 Training Challenges are as listed below

Quarter 2 - Apr 4th through July 3rd
Quarter 3 - July 4th through Oct 2nd
Quarter 4 - Oct 3rd through Jan 1st (2017)
